Deep Cove Music: Musart

Musart Cultural Society is puts on the "Cates for the Cure Concert Series" (formerly known as "Cates Park Concert Series"). It is a series of free, family-friendly concerts held in the picturesque Cates Park, North Vancouver, each Saturday for seven weeks, starting in July and finishing in August, from 4-7pm. For the past ten years, Musart has taken great pride in celebrating and showcasing the talent of the Vancouver music scene and allowing families and local music lovers to enjoy many afternoons of great music in a beautiful venue.

For the past three years, Musart has produced a 2 disc compilation of the name "Cates for the Cure", which features all 27 original bands and solo artists. This year Musart is able to donate 100% of the proceeds from the CD to the Multiple Scloeris Society of Canada. Last year, almost $1000 was raised for Parkinson's Society of BC, and the previous year, over $1000 was raised for BC Cancer Foundation.

Musart is a non-profit cultural society for the arts, and is also the driving force behind Deep Cove Daze, an annual community event occuring at the end of August. Last year, in the course of the two events, over eight thousand people throughout the Lower Mainland enjoyed performances by over 150 different local musicians and artists.
